So many ideas. So much thanks. This has made the web a more beautiful place for me. Thank you.

100 Million Thanks

In March 2012, we released Paper with the hope of creating a place where ideas can live and thrive. Since then, over 100 million pages have been made with Paper by creators around the world.

Collectively, creators have spent one millennium with their ideas in Paper. These moments add up. Moments like an ex-elephant trainer drawing wildlife, a former painter who’s now teaching digital art to kidsa developer sharing inspiration from Startup SchoolIt’s time spent preserving recipescapturing life in a new citydesigning homesperforming on stagethinking clearly, and thanking customers. We all create, and this is something to celebrate.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we recapped a few highlights from the past 20 months. This week we’ll also showcase the work of creators old and new. Share what you’re working on and we’ll feature our favorites on Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook and in the in-app Made With Paper stream.

Get inspired, celebrate with us. Here’s to all the ideas that are yet to come.

Mathias taught me some great approaches to visual note taking. Thrilled that we get to work with him now.

Visualize Your Dream Company

Mathias Vestergaard is the founder of Think Clearly which coaches companies and individuals to become better thinkers and communicators through visual note-taking.

Every week Think Clearly produces a weekly handwritten newsletter centered on note writing exercises to prompt creativity. This week the topic is Visualize Your Dream Company.

This week, we are celebrating COLOR to showcase creations that come to life with a bit of courage and a well-made palette.

Our team will share the inspiration behind our Color Mixer; we’ll also feature artists and Paper creators who use color in unexpected ways. To get started, we talked with Co.Design about ‘creating’ colors versus ‘picking’ them. Read the full article here.

Join us this week and share your work with us. Take a screenshot of your favorite Paper creation along with its color palette and send it to paper@fiftythree.com or share it on Twitter and Tumblr with the tag #MadeWithPaper. We’ll select creations to feature throughout the week!

Remember, color should be fun. Go play.

The Making Of: @KelseyBrookes’s Psychedelic Paintings

The Making Of… Know any other Instagrammers doing something unique with their hands? Send us a note through Tumblr.

San Diego, California-based artist Kelsey Brookes—@KelseyBrookes on Instagram—brings his followers into the studio as he creates painstakingly detailed paintings.

Perhaps the only thing more captivating than Brookes’ psychedelic artistic creations is the path that led him to art in the first place. After graduating college with a degree in Biology and researching West Nile Virus on a grant from the US Centers for Disease Control, Brookes left for Australia, where he lived out of a van, surfed, and took up drawing.

Since then, he’s created album art for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and shown his work throughout the US, and internationally in Switzerland, the UK and Australia.

See more at kelseybrookes.com, and at his Instagram profile on the web.

Absolutely beautiful!
